12-Day Kenya, Rwanda and uganda Tour Package

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli

Arrive in Nairobi where you will be picked up by our representative and depending on your arrival time on this day we may book you a hotel in Nairobi and you depart after breakfast the next morning or drive to Amboseli National park directly from the airport. Amboseli National Park is most famous for its stunning views of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro, the park offers photographers the rare opportunity to snap photos of elephants, lions, zebras, and giraffes against the startling backdrop of Africa’s most famous mountain.

Day 2: Explore Amboseli National Park

On this day you will wake up before the dawn for an unforgettable sunrise game drive within the park. Kilimanjaro never looks quite as beautiful as she does first thing in the morning, and you’ll also get to see predators such as leopards, lions, and cheetahs out on the prowl in the cooler morning air.

After your morning game drive and a late breakfast, relax at the lodge for a few hours before heading out into the park again in the afternoon. With the animals largely inactive during the warm midday hours, you can get some rest before catching them out and about in the cooling afternoon air.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast then depart for Nakuru driving through the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in time for an exciting game drive, heading to check-in at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge and enjoy lunch. After lunch, you will head out for another game drive across the Pink Lake referred so due to the great masses of majestic pink flamingos that surround the shores. You will also have the chance to view the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early morning breakfast, you will check out and leave Lake Nakuru for Maasai Mara. You will pass through Narok Town, a famous Maasai town as you make your way to Maasai Mara. You will arrive in time to check in at Sarova Game Camp and have lunch. After lunch, you will take off game drive through the park in search of lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, and other members of the “Big Five”, plus other animals. Later in the evening, you will return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay. The Maasai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November.

There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians, and reptiles, and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve.

Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).

Day 5: Explore Maasai Mara

Full-day game drives depart at 7.00 am, with your 4×4 fully equipped to cross the Mara plains in search of game. At 1800 meters above sea level it can get cold before the sun rises fully, so we provide blankets and hot water bottles to keep you warm.

By midday, it can become very hot indeed and sun-block lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree or overlooking the snorting hippos which wallow in the Mara River.

As the afternoon draws to a close and the temperature cools, the shadows lengthen and the Bush changes once more. Evening sightings of rhinos are not uncommon on the way back to camp. Even a bad day is a good day in the Mara since undoubtedly you will have encountered vistas, flora, and fauna new to you.

Day 6: Explore Maasai Mara

After breakfast you can be one of only a few fortunate people to glide in a Hot Air Balloon over the Mara Plains. (This optional activity is an additional cost of $ 490 by pre- arrangement). Experience floating silently above the awakening bush while spotting wildlife and enjoying the amazing scenery of Africa, across rivers and over numerous small villages. After this optional balloon ride, the search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues during an extensive game drive after lunch.

On the plains, enormous herds of grazing animals, plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs can be seen. During your stay you also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people where you will witness singing and dancing; part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 7: Maasai Mara to Nairobi

You will drive to Nairobi and depending on the time you get there you can head out to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can learn about the elephant orphans and their relocation program. You can also go to the Giraffe Center which is a mere 10-minute drive away where kissing a giraffe is the order of the day. You will then have Lunch at the Famous Utamaduni Restaurant located within Bomas of Kenya. Bomas of Kenya is home to one of largest auditorium in Africa and displays traditional villages belonging to the several Kenyan tribes. Afterwards head back to the Hotel for a relaxed evening as you enjoy a good swim awaiting dinner.

Day 8: Nairobi to Kigali

Transfer to JKIA to connect flight from Nairobi to Kigali, after arriving in Kigali, you can visit, The Kigali Genocide Memorial commemorates the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The remains of over 250,000 people are interred there. There is a visitor center for students and those wishing to understand the events leading up to the events of 1994. Kandt House Museum of Natural History is a museum in Kigali, Rwanda. It is under the responsibility of the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. Dedicated to |de}}, in his former home of German resident Richard Kandt on the Nyarugenge Hill in Kigali city, The Nyamata Genocide Memorial is based around a former church 30km south of Kigali in Rwanda, which commemorates the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The remains of 50,000 people are buried here.

Day 9:  Kigali to Bwindi

Our guide will meet you at the hotel, and brief you about your tour. Before your journey to Uganda, you will have an opportunity to tour the city of Kigali and important sites like the genocide war memorial centers. After touring the city, you will embark on a 4-hour drive to Bwindi through the Katuna (Uganda/Rwanda) border. After Katuna, you will head to Ruhija in Bwindi. This journey will give you an opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and landscapes in Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda has eye-catching rolling hills and plantations, while Uganda has dense green forest around the Bwindi area. Dinner and overnight will be at the Gorilla Mist Camp.

Day 10: Tracking in Bwindi

You will wake up very early for breakfast. Our guide will pick you up and take you to the park offices where you will be briefed and given information regarding tracking gorillas in Bwindi. You will be assigned a gorilla group and given an opportunity to hire a porter at a cost of 10USD. Your lodge will arrange a packed lunch and water. Gorilla trekking takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family that particular day. Once you spot the gorillas, take as many photos as you can and try to follow instructions from the wardens/guides. After completing the trek, return to your hotel.

Day 11: Bwindi to Kigali

Following breakfast with our previous memories of Gorilla Trekking, Rwanda driving through the impressive hillside landscapes of Rwanda that have earned her a dub as the land of a thousand hills.

You will start your Kigali city tour with your list of the to-do things and the prepared places to visit on the day during the tour. To get the most on this tour, you need to engage with your driver guide concerning your interests but be sure that all your requests must be within the vicinity of Kigali city.

This particular tour of Kigali city will take around the major historical and cultural heritage sites of Rwanda. You will visit Kandt’s house or museum of natural history where Dr. Richard Kandt the first German colonial resident of Rwanda resided. The experience at the museum can take about 1 hour in total depending on how you engage with the museum guides about what you are learning in regards to Kigali and Rwanda in general. After here, you will take a hike climbing Mount Kigali located at the heart of the city.

You will proceed with the guided tour visiting some of the fast-growing centers in the outskirts of Kigali City including the chanceful opportunity to visit the presidential museum where two former Presidents of Rwanda resided, here you will have an opportunity to learn a bit about the political history of Rwanda.

The trip continues as we drive through the older commercial and residential areas with a major stop at the Kigali genocide memorial site commemorating the 1994 Rwandan Genocide that claimed hundreds of thousands of the Rwanda people.

Your Kigali city tour will probably end with a visit to the Caplaki Craft centers where you are able to purchase souvenirs from your stay in Rwanda in turn supporting families of the women involved in making the items. You are free to choose a cosmopolitan restaurant for a more diverse menu at the time of the lunch break.

Day 12: Kigali to Nairobi

This being the climax of the trip and depending on your next destination departure time you will discuss with your driver-guide the best time to start for the airport. After breakfast, you will check out for the Airport, which ends our safari services.
