Day 1: Moshi to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you are met by our tour guide/driver, and leave for Tarangire National Park with your picnic lunch. Tarangire derived its name from the Tarangire River which crosses along the center of the park and which provides permanent water for the wildlife and birdlife of the park around the year. It is here where a large group of different speciesof animal concentrate during the dry season and is the best place to take many pictures.
Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swampareas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Also, it is in Tarangire by chance you can see the tree climbing African pythons.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, along the Tarangire River.
Day 2: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
Your day will begin after a breakfast by about 8:00 a.m with a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park ahead of you. The national park is extremely famous and special for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny. The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Sq Kms park gets its name from the Tarangire river that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebras. If it’s your lucky day, you might be able to spot the tree climbing python and the long necked Gerek. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. Don’t forget to capture this beautiful scenery with your camera ready at hand. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you and later a good night’s sleep for tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. You head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Day 4: Explore Serengeti National Park
If you start first thing in the morning, you will find the Serengeti at its most active. This is when Africa can reveal its cool side, so you should wrap up warm, we aim to be on the road before the sun rises at around 6.00 am. Our 4 by 4 brings you as close as possible to the wildlife, just when the action is likely to be most exciting. Few predators hunt during the heat of the day, so the early morning is the best time to observe the thrill of the chase. It is also a magical time, with the subtle light dappling the landscape.
Heading into the bush for an evening game drive has a level of excitement and character all its own, as predators begin their nightly search for prey. As the day cools and the sky is streaked by red, gold, and orange hues, you may be surprised by the roar of a lion, a galloping giraffe, or the high-pitched giggling of hyenas fighting over a kill. At a suitable vantage point, your guide will pause, allowing you to enjoy a sundowner in blissful comfort.
Day 5: Explore Serengeti National Park
These full-day safaris are the best way to see the full range of what this magnificent park has to offer. Each excursion departs at around 6.30 am, with your 4×4 fully equipped to cross the Serengeti in search of a game. The early mornings are relatively cool, but by midday, it can become very hot indeed and sun-block lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree as you take a break from scanning the horizons
One of nature’s great occasions is the annual crossing of the Mara river by migrating wildebeest. You can be sure of witnessing this stupendous natural event. Yet it is often in the lesser-known corners of the bush that we spot the highlights of your visit, such as a kill, amorous liaison, or lesser-known creature. A full day on safari gives you every chance of such unforgettable encounters.
Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Depart after your morning breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes via the Olduvai gorge where it is believed the cradle of mankind began. Thereafter transferred to Ngorongoro Crater which is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is the main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Maasai herds their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
You’ll depart after breakfast to Arusha. Arusha is a city in East Africa’s Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It’s a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa’s highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions,rhinos, giraffes, and leopards. The annual migration features huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.
Day 8: Arusha to Kigali
Transfer to connect flight from Arusha to Kigali, after arriving in Kigali, you can visit, The Kigali Genocide Memorial commemorates the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The remains of over 250,000 people are interred there. There is a visitor center for students and those wishing to understand the events leading up to the events of 1994. Kandt House Museum of Natural History is a museum in Kigali, Rwanda. It is under the responsibility of the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. Dedicated to |de}}, in his former home of German resident Richard Kandt on the Nyarugenge Hill in Kigali city, The Nyamata Genocide Memorial is based around a former church 30km south of Kigali in Rwanda, which commemorates the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The remains of 50,000 people are buried here.
Day 9: Kigali to Bwindi
Our guide will meet you at the hotel, and brief you about your tour. You will then embark on a 4-hour drive to Bwindi through the Katuna (Uganda/Rwanda) border. After Katuna, you will head to Ruhija in Bwindi. This journey will give you an opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and landscapes in Rwanda and Uganda. Rwanda has eye-catching rolling hills and plantations, while Uganda has dense green forest around the Bwindi area.
Day 10: Tracking in Bwindi
You will wake up very early for breakfast. Our guide will pick you up and take you to the park offices where you will be briefed and given information regarding tracking gorillas in Bwindi. You will be assigned a gorilla group and given an opportunity to hire a porter at a cost of 10USD. Your lodge will arrange a packed lunch and water. Gorilla trekking takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours, depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family that particular day. Once you spot the gorillas, take as many photos as you can and try to follow instructions from the wardens/guides. After completing the trek, return to your hotel.
Day 11: Bwindi to Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale
After an early cup of coffee and with your packed breakfast and lunch boxes, you will be driven to the starting point/park offices where you may be joined by other clients for a briefing on the day’s adventure and assigned a local ranger guide for your days’ activity, it’s usually up to 8 people in a group per ranger guide. There are approximately 4,950 Chimps left in the wild, out of which Kibale forest habitats over 1470 chimpanzees which makes it a perfect place to spot them! This activity is a half-day experience that takes you through the day-to-day lifestyle of a chimpanzee. You are expected to de-nest and nest the chimps and walk them through their day’s activities. The other primates that you may see include among others Red-tailed Monkeys, Red Colobus, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Olive Baboon, Black and White Colobus, etc.
Day 12: Kibale to Kigali
Departing from Kibale, you embark on a road journey towards the border with Rwanda. As you traverse the scenic countryside, the landscape gradually transitions from lush forests to rolling hills. Arriving at the border crossing, whether at Kabale or Cyanika, you proceed through immigration formalities, bidding farewell to Uganda and preparing to enter Rwanda.
The road winds through verdant hills dotted with terraced farms and small villages, offering glimpses of rural life along the way. As you approach Kigali, the capital city unfolds with its bustling streets and modern infrastructure. Upon arrival in Kigali, you settle into your accommodation, ready to explore the vibrant city known for its cleanliness, cultural landmarks, and poignant history.
Day 13: Excursions in Kigali and Kigali International Airport
This being the climax of the trip and depending on your next destination departure time you will discuss with your driver-guide the best time to start for the airport. After breakfast, you may have time to explore local markets, or savoring Rwandan cuisine, the city promises a rich tapestry of experiences. You will then head to the airport for your flight home, marking the end of our safari services.
